Stalis is strategically placed between the better-known resorts of Malia and Hersonissos beside the north coast highway, with its own beautiful beach of fine yellow sand. Despite a cooling onshore breeze, the Cretan sun's still hard at work, and the combination of sun and wind makes it easy to acquire a deep, golden tan. Although Stalis is less hectic than Malia, it still has a good selection of bars and restaurants. It's a good choice if you want to have the nightlife of Malia on your doorstep, but prefer somewhere a little bit quieter as your base!
