Halkidiki

Halkidiki Beach
The dramatically beautiful three- pronged Halkidiki peninsular, with fine long beaches of yellow sand backed by pine clad mountains, and warm clear waters, offers you Greece at its scenic best!

This historic region, birthplace of Alexander the Great, has always been popular with the Greeks themselves, but it's only lately being discovered by holidaymakers from the UK. The dramatic eastern promontory is still hidden from outsiders' eyes. It's home to the Byzantine monasteries of Mount Athos, where women are forbidden to set foot! However, you can view it from the sea by taking a boat trip along the coastline. Kassandra, the western finger of Halkidiki, has some of the best beaches, and our resorts are strung along its eastern coastal road, linked by the local bus. All have long fine shingle and sand beaches, a good selection of tavernas and great views across the Gulf of Kassandra. Polichrono is the quieter choice, where many village houses are built in traditional style, with wooden balconies, stone walls and red tiled roofs. Hanioti is liveliest of the three, with a wider selection of watersports and nightlife (there's even a go-kart track), while the village of Pefkohori is a friendly and easy going all-rounder of a resort. Stay in one, and enjoy all three!
