With its vast shingle and sandy beach, the southern resort of Scala is growing steadily in popularity, while retaining its friendly village atmosphere. In the cool of the day you can discover the ruins of Old Scala on a nearby hillside, complete with its church, school and olive press, or the wonderfully preserved Roman mosaic on the outskirts of the resort itself.
