One of the liveliest and most attractive of all the Greek island capitals, Kos Town is full of palm trees and flowers, with plenty of archaeological remains and imposing Venetian-style buildings. At its heart is the bustling harbour, and the busy town centre offering good shopping, plenty of bars and night-spots, and an excellent choice of restaurants. There is a fine sandy town beach, with an even better one at nearby Tingaki, easily reached by local bus or hired bicycle. Ferries leave the port for Bodrum on the Turkish coast nearby, as well as Rhodes, Symi, Nisyros and Kalymnos. With so much to see and do, Kos Town is a great choice for your holiday base.
