Fethiye is a charming town built on the site of the ancient city Telmessos. Its historical importance is clear to see with its fascinating ruins dotted around the landscape, most notably the Lycian rock tombs carved into the hillside above the town. There is an attractive harbour front with a fine selection of restaurants and bars where you can relax with a drink and take in the warm atmosphere. Sun seekers can use the beach at Calis, which is a short dolmus ride away and has a good choice of watersports. Alternatively, the incredibly blue lagoon at Olu Deniz is easily accessible.
