Kosmar - Cheap Holidays to Greece and Turkey

Even though it's right next to Rhodes' only 18-hole golf course, this charming village, set inland from the coast road south of Faliraki, is one of the island's least known resorts. It has several tavernas and bars, and even a couple of discos, but the original village atmosphere is still going strong, with old men playing backgammon outside the tavernas, and the locals going about their everyday business.

The island's longest beach of sand and shingle is less than half an hour's stroll - and even though it's a favourite stopping off point for the jeep safaris or barbecue boat trips from better known resorts, it never gets crowded. Afandou combines a relaxing beach holiday with the delights of village life - and the bright lights of Faliraki are just a short taxi ride away.
